Phoenix Coffee Co.  

Phoenix Coffee Co. is a specialty coffee roaster with five locations across the city. As the only employee-owner cooperative coffee company in Ohio, Phoenix Coffee sources its coffee beans from all over the world and roasts them in small batches in their Cleveland cafes. All five locations serve both hot and cold coffee drinks as well as a variety of baked goods from other local cafes and delis. 

Phoenix’s cafes are located in Cleveland Heights (2287 Lee Rd.), downtown (1700 E. 9th St.), in Ohio City (3000 Bridge Ave.), in the Warehouse District (826 W. St. Clair Ave.), and in Coventry (1793 Coventry Rd.). Hours vary by location, so check the website for more information.

27 Club Coffee

27 Club Coffee is a trendy coffee lounge and kitchen located downtown in a converted warehouse. Owned by the famous musician and actor Machine Gun Kelly, this cafe has an impressive Instagram following highlighting its hip atmosphere and tasty treats. 27 Club Coffee serves coffee, pastries, smoothies, and sandwiches.

In the evenings, the coffee lounge serves cocktails and beer, and on Fridays, it provides a special vegan menu. 27 Club Coffee is located at 1215 W. 10th St., and its hours vary throughout the week. Check the cafe’s website or Instagram for more information.  

Milk + Honey

Visit Milk + Honey, a downtown coffee shop that provides a cozy spot to study, relax, or just spend some time with friends. Milk + Honey serves Erie Island coffee, a unique coffee blend made from 100% Arabica beans. In addition to both hot and cold brews, you’ll find smoothies, baked goods, sandwiches, and salads on the menu. Milk + Honey is located at 1100 Superior Ave., Suite 10. It’s open Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 3 p.m., Saturday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., and is closed on Sunday. 

Lekko Coffee

Check out Lekko Coffee in Cleveland’s Ohio City neighborhood. Since opening in 2021, Lekko has had a mission that goes beyond serving customers a delicious cup of coffee. The cafe is committed to providing a living wage to everyone involved in the coffee-making process, from the farmers that grow the beans to the baristas that serve the drinks. 

The cafe is large, supplying plenty of room for meeting with co-workers or enjoying brunch with friends, and it’s filled with natural light. Choose from lattes, coffees, espressos, and more. Feel free to order ahead on the website if you’d like to skip the line and pick up your order at the counter. Lekko Coffee is located at 2529 Detroit Ave. and is open seven days a week from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Visit duck-rabbit coffee, a craft coffee roastery that aims to select some of the world’s rarest coffees and present them to customers in a meaningful way. The cafe provides a clean, quiet place to get some work done or to sit and enjoy a good book while enjoying your coffee. The menu features a variety of coffee drinks, such as macchiatos, cappuccinos, lattes, and more. If you’d like a bite to eat as well, the cafe serves a rotating pastry menu with toast, oatmeal, and baked goods from Victoria’s Craft Bakery. 

Duck-rabbit is located at 4160 Lorain Ave. and is open Monday-Friday from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m., with weekend hours Saturday-Sunday from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

Rising Star Coffee

With seven locations in and around Cleveland, Rising Star Coffee seeks to provide its customers with the highest quality coffee experiences possible. When you visit, choose from coffee drinks, such as espressos, lattes, and cappuccinos, or try a non-coffee drink, such as a cup of tea or hot chocolate.

affoGATO Cat Cafe

While affoGATO Cat Cafe might be known for its love of all things feline, it also serves up a great cup of coffee. As Cleveland’s first cat cafe, affoGATO provides a safe, fun place for shelter cats to play and explore, but it also serves a variety of coffee drinks and pastries, including gluten-free, vegan, and sugar-free items. The cafe is sparkling clean and completely separate from the cats’ play area, and all food is prepared off-site. Feel free to sip your coffee and watch the cats play through the large windows that separate the cafe from the cat’s play area. 

AffoGATO is located at 761 Starkweather Ave., with hours varying throughout the week. The cafe is open Thursday and Friday from 3:30-7 p.m. On Saturdays, affoGATO is open from 9:30 a.m. to 1:45 p.m., reopening for afternoon/evening hours 3:30-6:30 p.m.  You can also find affoGATO open each Sunday from 9:30 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Six Shooter Cafe

Six Shooter Coffee in Waterloo aims to responsibly source high-quality coffee beans from all over the world and roast them in small batches in their cafe. They serve a variety of coffee drinks, including cappuccinos, espressos, and lattes. If you’re not in the mood for coffee, they also serve hot and iced tea as well as hot chocolate. Six Shooter is located at 15613 Waterloo Ave. and is open daily from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
